薛文珍自2016年8月起擔任國立臺灣藝術大學副校長,從事文化與科技跨界整合創新。2004年共同創辦工研院創意中心並擔任中心主任近9年,帶領團隊在科技與產業的基礎上,從趨勢、需求到內探,發掘以人為本的獨特價值。她常扮演前鋒的角色,是臺藝大第一位來自科技界的副校長;2012年被選為中國工程師學會101年來首位女性理事;2006年成為奧地利林茲Ars Electronica 26年來首位來自台灣的講者。

她不斷為跨界人才爭取舞台與歷練,2010台北國際花博會夢想館吸引104萬人的策劃,得到國家產業創新獎的肯定;2014-2016三次「解密科技寶藏」虛實融合體驗策展,結合科技、設計、藝術、市場行銷,整合17個研發法人,以體驗者的回饋為科技研發注入多元價值觀點。多年來跨界刺激研發組織與產業轉型的實驗歷程,是包括德國在內的世界級研發機構借鏡的對象。

在科技研發的領域,1996-2003她參與並領導工研院數位影像與光電技術研發應用,和美國MIT合作研發3D Display與3D Camera,獲得工研院前瞻研究傑出獎,並促使創意中心成立,與MIT Media Lab的交流長達11年。1993-1996於美國GE研發中心參與發電、飛航引擎及馬達之監視診斷專家系統開發。

她是美國加州理工學院(Caltech)機械工程博士、臺灣大學農業機械工程學士。科技專業養成於數位影像與光電系統,延伸至創意與創新管理。

 

Wen-Jean Hsueh devotes herself to the cross-disciplinary innovation of technology and humanity. She was co-founder and general director of Creativity Laboratory at the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) 2004-2013, leading cross- disciplinary teams to explore unique human-centric values.

She often plays the role of vanguard. She became the first technology vice president of National Taiwan University of Arts in 2016; was the first female member elected to the board of directors of Chinese Institute of Engineers in 2012 after 101 years; was the first speaker from Taiwan at the Ars Electronica Forum of Linz, Austria in 2006; pioneered 3D camera and 3D display research at ITRI 1996-2003.

She directed several national interactive technology expos by integrating technology, design, marketing, and the arts, which cultivated numerous creative talents and integrators. Her 12-year work as change agent to stimulate technology R&D organization and the industry is pioneering by worldwide standards.

Wen-Jean Hsueh received PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology in 1993, and BS in Agricultural Machinery Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1987. Her technical expertise lies in the field of digital imaging and opto-electronic systems, extending to the management of creativity and innovation. Before returning to Taiwan, she participated in the development of monitoring & diagnostics expert systems for Power Generation, Aircraft Engines, and Motors at GE Corporate R&D.
